Amiri dropped by recently with his Mum and Dad to capture this wonderful stage in life.
An absolute gift to photograph, he laughed and smiled for almost an hour, exceptionally rare when photographing children his age. Depending on the age of the child, and also the time of year a studio portrait might be more appropriate than a location shoot. The weather is always a factor here as are considerations around whether the child can walk unassisted. If the weather is poor and kids are still be carried everywhere then a studio portrait shoot might just deliver better results. They certainly did in Amiri’s case.
All these pictures were shot using my portable studio set up involving a single light and a simple white background that covers both wall and floor.
